Building a CLI tool for a Go-project this month as an actively maintained OSS project. Greedily looking for contributors!

Hi Gophers,

I'm a bit of a go-lurker but decided to step into the world of Golang to build a project for this month. If you have an interest in working on a managed open source project with deadline in sight (ie; to get things done) continue on!

On (somewhat of) a monthly basis I run open source projects under the name THE HEAP. The Heap's goal is to get people contributing / learning / building together. Projects will live on beyond a single month, but are only actively maintained for this time. I am the only maintainer; I like to use the heap to explore new languages, and learn new stuff. Golang is quite new to me.

This month's project aims to be a CLI tool that makes it easier to keep up to date with breaking changes in your applications when working on a team.

This project is really oriented around helping people get contributing to OSS; so I make an effort to leave gigantic libraries behind in favour of learning to write idiomatic code in whatever language we're using and whatever tools we have.

If you have any interest in contributing please do.

Links:

project repository

About the heap

The Heap on Twitter

ps. I'm totally new to Golang! I've written maybe 50 lines of code in it before, and am just interested in building a project with it. So yeah. All skill levels welcome!

<3<3<3
