I've done it. Nearly a year into my first programming gig and I am starting to feel a bit more comfortable. Now I wanna' branch out and learn stuff outside of what I am learning at work. On Sundays I've set up a little study sesh for two friends and myself.

One of my friends has no programming experience but is a tech recruiter and wants to learn more about it, I only have experience in JavaScript, and my other buddy just graduated from a coding bootcamp.

This will give me a second language to compare with JavaScript since right now I have no context for where JS is in the landscape. I mean, I kinda' know, but I'd like to actually know another language. It'd also give me a chance to be a better teacher! Basically, it's gonna be a low stress couple-hour-a-week in-person meeting at my apartment.

My question is, where should we get started? I bet I should just look at the Subreddit sidebar. I am looking for something that will get us building things quickly. Our end goal is to build some chat bots that can say things like "Balls of Steel" and do Discord API integration.

TLDR: Best jumping off point for GoLang for in person study sessions where people wanna build stuff quickly.
