Hello everyone, I started to learn basics of Go by myself, the thing is in my area Golang is not in high demand, so meanwhile i thought maybe i should learn another interesting language, maybe a language that it can help to understand Go better or maybe a language who can complete it? (don't throw stones on me) The basic idea is I really want to learn Go on long term but meanwhile a man's gotta eat. I like both web development and software development just help me to understand more Thank you in advance

**评论:**

ui7_uy8:

C and Javascript.

https://golang.org/misc/cgo/

jackmott2:

yeah if you want to eat that is a good combo.

notyetawizard:

Go is the best language to learn on route to learning Go. If you've written in anything else before, it shouldn't take you any more than a week to be competent.

Aside from that, just pick a language you can get a job in, and don't worry about it's similarities to Go.

kkirsche:

Not in terms of style, constructs or most of the actual language but function names align pretty closely to python

ramius345:

I would argue that Go is a very popular language. Many highly visible tools like Docker and Kubernetes are written in Go. If you are interested in learning systems programming Go is a great language to learn.

pobbly:

You'll always get work with javascript, for better or worse.

__snake_likeGopher:

I would say python. There are some differences obviously but they are both good tools to have under your belt.

bigpigfoot:

nodejs and python are the most common web development language alternatives.

learn a framework like expressjs or django.

ruby and ruby on rails are your alternative to python and django.

personally i think node is easier because if you build your own frontend it is still just javascript. your tools are more or less the same.

cornosoft:

Thank you guys for your answers, it's very helpful! I may have choice (for a project) between C++/C# and Java or C++/C# and Python or JavaScript and Node.js. I'm sure go is a better alternative on each project but people on my area don't know the language yet
