I'm interested in writing some topdown 2D games in go for desktop and mobile and having a hard time figuring out why not to just use go-sdl2 for it. I tried running the mobile/app examples on desktop and they failed so wondering if I have to use sdl2 to get support for both platforms.

SDL2 can run on Android and IOS if I'm not mistaken.

tiggus:

Yes I'm using go-sdl2 binding which works great for desktop however the go toolchain for building to Android(gomobile) doesn't seem to support it as it wants me to use the /x/mobile pkg for go native apps. I'm wondering if there is a way to get around this and just have it compile to android without the x/mobile libraries.
