Although this has nothing to do with go, I thought this might be interesting to some. There is plenty of speculation that Google is trying to position go as a replacement in Android. Plus the multitude of articles of former Java shops converting to go.

When Oracle bought Sun I figured they were licking their chops to turn everything they had acquired into direct cash cows. They didn't seem like the type of company to make money the roundabout way that's common in FOSS. And one by one Oracle and projects got divorced. It was said that when they got a hold of Java they were most concerned with how they could sue Google. I guess since that's not panning out to be such a big pay day Java will get locked away. I mean if you're going to sue Google for using it then what does that signal for anyone else wanting to use it?

Honestly this is one reason I started looking at Go way back when. I figured Java's future had to be limited once Oracle grabbed it.
