Just curious if anyone knows the background of choosing the name 'Dialer' for that interface. Seems weirdly archaic to me for a modern language. Not a problem, just a lovable quirk of the language but I'm wondering if there was more to that, it was an inside joke or whatever?

Go seems to have a bit of flair for using archaic language in a handy, intuitive way -- e.g. rune for "unicode code point".
