<p>Remember the <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/golang/comments/3yt0o8/why_you_should_borrow_me_your_spare_computer_for/">thread from yesterday</a> where a fellow gopher in Tanzania asked to borrow a PC for a year? Well I have good news!</p>
<p>A lot of people were willing to help, but most needed a way to contribute small amounts to a bigger pool since shipping an actual PC was a bit too expensive.</p>
<p>So I have been in touch with <a href="/u/gernest_">/u/gernest_</a> and he told me he has access to a bank account that can receive money via SWIFT transfers. So, what now?</p>

<li>A few of us found some online retailers in Tanzania that accept cash on delivery, e.g <a href="https://www.jumia.co.tz/laptops/?viewType=gridView3&sort=Price%3A%20High%20to%20Low&dir=desc">this one</a> or <a href="http://www.kaymu.co.tz/laptop/">this one</a>.</li>
<li>OP mentioned he needs a 64bit machine with decent RAM. Among laptops with 8GB RAM, <a href="https://www.jumia.co.tz/toshiba-satellite-s55-b5155-15.6-intel-core-i7-1tb-hdd-8gb-ram-windows-8.1-silver-17007.html">this</a> is the most expensive laptop available at ~$1000 USD. The second most expensive is <a href="https://www.jumia.co.tz/hp-pavilion-15-r253cl-15.6-intel-core-i3-5005u-2.1ghz-750gb-hdd-8gb-ram-windows-8.1-black-22444.html">this one</a> at ~$550 USD.</li>

<p>I'm willing to contribute the majority of this myself but if <em>you</em> would like to chip in as well, that would be great! More money, better specs :) Let's do this!</p>
<p><strong>Quick FAQ</strong></p>

<li><strong>How do I contribute?</strong> I'm willing to collect contributions for a few days (a week, maybe?) before sending the SWIFT. So if you'd like to contribute via PayPal etc., PM me.</li>
<li><strong>Why should I trust you?</strong> You don't have to. I'm offering this because I'm willing to absorb all transactions costs (PayPal withdrawal, SWIFT, banking etc.) and as proof, I will PM the SWIFT transfer confirmation email to anyone who donates. Still, feel free to contact OP and make a transfer yourself :)</li>
