I am interested in internal workings of go and want to read more about it, can anyone please suggest a book/resource which may have design documents or in general detailing of compiler level stuff.

There are design documents which you should be able to find by reading the changelog for various Go versions as well as the source code itself + language specs which are a pleasure to read.
