<p>happy to announce that 26 students have been selected to work with GSoC-2017, under the umbrella of CERN-HSF.
Among these 26 students, <strong>4</strong> students will work on Go projects:</p>
<ul>
<li>Vibhav Pant: will work on the building blocks to get a <code>wasm</code> (WebAssembly) based interpreter for Go</li>
<li>Bastian Wieck: will work on optimizing the clustering of particle-jets from LHC-like detector simulations. (this involves implementing a Delaunay triangulation routine that might be merge upstream, in gonum)</li>
<li>Dong-hee Na: will work on getting the Go->Python <code>gopy</code> command (that automatically wraps and exposes a Go package as a Python module) to be Python2/Python3 compliant (by generating code using <code>CFFI</code>)</li>
<li>Rishi Shah: will work on the next generation data replication system for CMS (one of the 4 detectors installed at LHC). the previous generation of that data replication system (that distributes the LHC (Petabyte-scale) datasets over the world wide grid that constitutes LHC's compute power) was written in PERL. it will be rewritten in Go.</li>
