Hey all,

We're looking for Go engineers to work on large scale distributed systems at Iron.io. We're the makers of IronMQ (our cloud message queue) and IronWorker (our asynchronous task execution service ).

Here are some fancy numbers to describe us:

IronWorker has scheduled and launched over 700,000,000 Docker containers to date since we started using Docker (see http://blog.iron.io/2014/10/docker-in-production-what-weve-learned.html for more))

All of those containers run 3rd party code on behalf of our customers

We execute over 500k process hours worth of user code per month

We serve over 5 billion API requests/month

We run services in many regions across multiple cloud providers

Here's our StackOverflow company page with more details about us.

If you're interested in the job, send email to aaron+goreddit@iron.io with:

Your Github handle

Your resume or description of your experience and projects

A short description of your favorite Go project and why it's interesing

[EDIT] - we're hiring for engineers to work in San Francisco. We provide relocation and if you're not based in SF we're ok with you working 3-5 months remote if you need to and then relocating.

For those, like me, wondering.

arschles:

Hey HectorJ - might be missing something, what's your question?

dahlma:

I think he was pointing out that there is no mention of this in the text post, but there is in the link you provided.

HectorJ:

Yes indeed.

Location is an important part of a job offer as, sadly, I'm not as mobile as I'd like to be.

arschles:

Got it, sorry about not mentioning it here.

We want people to work in SF long-term, but ok with having people remote for 3-5 months and then relocating. I know it's not ideal and there are really good Go engineers all over, but we're trying to grow our SF team right now...

arschles:

Thanks, will add to the text post

forhappy:

Would you like to accept applicant of any Chinese developers?

Momer:

Wait, it's not spam because the mods approved it! So certain employers can post job openings here? Seems wack.

dsymonds:

Employers are free to post here as long as the job is strongly relevant to Go, and isn't spammy. We aren't inundated with job postings.

jamra06:

You will be if you allow everyone to post jobs. Why do the people at Iron.io get special treatment? Is it because they're friends with the mods?

dsymonds:

Iron.io isn't special. I approved this posting before seeing it; I had no idea who it was for. I'm not sure I even know anyone who works for Iron.io.

We've been allowing job postings since this subreddit started. We haven't been flooded yet. If it starts heading that way then we'll change our policy.
